[Grammar] What awful weather

" used to say that you think that something is especially good, bad, etc.What awful weather!What a beautiful house!"

Why have they not used indefinite article "an" before awful weather. I got the excerpt from Oxford Dictionary. Thanks in advance
 
In those contexts, weather is uncountable and house is countable.
