What does “clinical”mean?

I typically associate 'clinical' with a somewhat negative connotation. I find it a little odd to use in what seems to otherwise be a very complimentary review of the food.

Perhaps they were simply trying to allude the former history of the apothecary. I almost take away that the food was soulless and medicinal tasting, except that conflicts starkly with the rest of the glowing review.

The word "clinical" is not something you would normally associate with "tasty" or anything complimentary having to do with food.
