So I'm writing a song titled titled "temporary fix," in this case relating to drugs, women, alcohol, etc.

Would "visceral illusion" be a legitimate metaphor to use? I'm looking for a lyric along these lines to rhyme with confusion. On the other hand, if you have any other terms/ideas (7 syllables give or take) that you think may work as a metaphor for a mind altering/escaping experience I'd be keen to read :) Thanks!

I'd call it a good enough metaphor. It's a song - you have a lot of poetic licence.

It is your song, so use it if you like. It sounds fine to me.
