I’ve seen the expression “use some excitement” in lots of places but only can vaguely understand the meaning. What does it exactly mean? Feel the excitement?
 
I would consider "use" to be synonymous with "display" and in that case, a more common expression would be "show some excitement".

In that sense, "could use" means would benefit from.
