Hi, [STRIKE]Guys,[/STRIKE]

I have just heard the word "toxinous" in a BBC report here:
http://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-engla...ton-woman-emma-was-addicted-to-eating-sponges

I checked it out in several online dictionaries but couldn't find it anywhere.

Is this [STRIKE]an existing[/STRIKE] a word, or maybe I misunderstood something?

Could anyone help me out?

Thanks!
Hello ildikodeak, and welcome to the forum. :)
No, it is not a word in English. She presumably meant to say "toxic" instead.

[STRIKE]hi Guys,[/STRIKE] Unnecessary; just go ahead and ask your question.

She misquoted the doctors—probably getting confused with 'toxic' and 'poisonous'.

I'm sure Rover meant to write "... or did I maybe misunderstand something". :)
