Are these good?

1. The tower in the western part of the city was a orange silhouette against the setting rays of sun.

2. With the setting sun behind it, the tower in the western part of the city was a black silhouette against the reddish orange sky.
 
They're OK. The second one is, I think, more interesting.
 
So, can I say a silhouette has a color other than black?

Orange silhouette
Pinkish silhouette
Reddish silhouette
 
I suppose. Admittedly, it's not a word I see every day.
 
I don't think so. A silhouette is an outline of an object in darkness against a background of light, e.g. the sky during sunrise or sunset. There is probably a tinge of diffused light within the darkness.
 
Here in the South they say a orange. :)
