I've heard that you call some dirt in your toe nail 'toe jam'

Then do you say 'finger jam' too?

What do you call the dirt in your finger nails?

"Toe jam" is more the stuff that accumulates between your toes.

No, there is no such thing as "finger jam."

"Toe jam" is new to this BrE speaker. As far as the latter question is concerned, in BrE it's "fingernail dirt".

Oh I see!

Than can I just call 'nail dirt' for some dirt in your nails?

You can but you might be asked whether you're talking about toenails or fingernails.

I don't know what you are talking about.

I wash.

About finger jam, I agree. But about toe jam, what do you mean? Are you talking about USC?

If not, please elaborate. :) My father dropped some dark hints about toe jam that he never explained :-|
