[Grammar] to force open

How is it correct to say "he force opens the door" or "he forces the door open" or something... I'm completely lost with this word combination "to force open".

They're both OK and both used. For my part, I would use "He forced the door open".
 
'He forces open the door', not 'he force opens the door'.
 
'He forces open the door', not 'he force opens the door'.

Oops, I completely missed that while I was looking at the word order. :oops:
