Hi

I have some problems, because I'm trying to translate this phrase but I can't find it anywhere. Polish dictionaries don't contain this kind of infromation so I want you to tell me what it means:

Cardiff City booked their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup after edging past Coventry with a 2-1 win at Sixfields.

Can you put this phrase in another way?

Thanks in advance.
