Times go quickly/my son has grown up

Should I use present perfect in my sentence and should I use the singular form of "time"? As in "Does time go quickly?"

"My son grew up so quickly or do times go quickly?"

The young woman is asking herself.

You can change the past simple to the present perfect if the theme of the sentence is relevant to the present time.

"Time goes quickly" is unnatural, isn't it?

The expression is Time flies. Sometimes it seems to have gone by in a hurry.

I would use the present perfect for both parts.

"Has my son grown up so quickly, or [STRIKE]does[/STRIKE] has the time [STRIKE]fly[/STRIKE] flown so fast?"

"... or has time flown so fast?" would also work. See Tarheel's comment above.

I don't like the use of "so" in either half of the sentence.

Has my son grown up very/really quickly, or has time just flown by?

(You don't need "fast" with "fly/flown by".)

You could use "so" in something like "My son has grown up so fast that it feels as if the last ten years have simply flown by".
