That's if it's aggressive. In, say, a football ('soccer') match I'd say 'ONTO' - if I used a directional preposition there at all. Most people would say something like 'threw him the ball [or just 'passed to him') for him to head' (where 'head' is a verb). In the first person, people do use ON - at a throw-in, where players are trying to get the thrower's attention, a player might call 'Here you are, on me 'ead'.
