1-I saw him four months ago.

Let us say it is July.

Does 1 mean:
a-I saw him in March.
or:
b-I saw him about 120 (4 times 30) days ago.

Gratefully,
Navi.

If we are in July and I saw him four months ago, then I saw him in March.

An alarming percentage of the population of this country these days wouldn't be able to tell you what four times thirty was, or probably tell you roughly how many days each month has! It would be far too complicated for people to think "Right, it's July. Most months have thirty days and he said four months. Thirty times four is one hundred and twenty. It's now July 14th. So one hundred and twenty days ago it would have been ... um ... OK, I give up, where's my calendar?"

If it is now July and you saw him four months ago, then I assume you saw him in March.
