I was wondering if it's too informal to leave out the pronoun before "though" in this sentence (from a Guardian article):

In a statement on Monday, Austrian police said the victim had declined police protection, though did not specify when or why it was offered. (Or though they did not ...?) Best regards. Salvador

(Or Can I say "... though they did not ..."?

Best regards. Salvador Unnecessary. You don't need a closing and we just use usernames here.

Welcome to the forum. Please note my corrections above.

The original is OK. We take it that "Austrian police" goes before both "said" and "did not specify".

I would expect "they" to follow "though" in that sentence, and had I been proofreading that I would have put it there.
