Hello

When pronouncing "this street", can I simply read as if there is just one "s" sound like "thistreet", or do I have to pronounce two "s" sounds with a brief break in beween?

I am not sure if this question is understandable. Thanks.

You need to say two "s" sounds with a pause. Otherwise, it sounds like you are saying "the street."

Like Piscean, I don't pause between the first "s" and the second but what I say sounds a little like "Thissstreet". I also agree that there shouldn't be any confusion because "thi" doesn't sound like "the".

If the /s/ is not longer, it will sound strange, though.
