I think you already know what the sentence means. It means we can't get any closer than this.

Your rephrasing is incorrect and unnecessary. I've already explained the meaning and rephrased the sentence for you in four different ways in post #4 of that other thread.

It should have been This is the closest (point) (to which) we can get to the station by bicycle.

I didn't mean any offence in this thread, but I was just trying to discover another possible rephrasing.

For the modified version above, could you please tell me your opinion?
Do you still think this rephrasing is unnecessary?
