This is a question of a middle school, and the answer is 2, but I think lemon means a useless thing rather than a cheat thing, What do you think?

Q.What is the meaning of the underlined?

A:This camera is a lemon
B:What does it mean?
A:It doesn't work well

1)an expensive thing 2)a cheat thing 3)a small thing
4)a useless thing 5)an important thing

2 is wrong.

If I sold you a used car and it didn't work right, wouldn't you feel cheated?

This question isn't very good. A lemon is a product that does not function as it should. Many states have "lemon laws" which require car dealers to make right or accept for a refund cars that are problematic for the purchaser.

A lemon car isn't exactly always "useless" more like "unreliable" and "prone to failure" or "defective."
