Hello,

The question the students have to answer is: 'Which two of your friends would you describe as being like chalk and cheese?'
One of the answers I received is: 'It's my bosom friends. They are twins, and they are so different and it's really good because they supplement each other by being different.'

Is it possible to use the word 'supplement' the way it is used in the student's answer?

Thank you in advance.

As an NES but not a teacher, I would have probably, personally, used "complemented" rather than "supplemented", as the weaknesses of one would be compensated for by the strengths of the other.

Hope this helps
