"They both are correct" or "They are both correct"

Is saying "They both are correct" instead of "they are both correct" wrong? Also please tell me why.

It's not wrong. It's just much less common.
 
"They both are correct" puts more emphasis on the fact that both are, than the original statement, in my opinion.
 
I can't help adding a bit to this discussion. The question was whether these two statements are grammatical:
"They are both correct"
"They both are correct"​

The answer is, they are both correct. Or, if you prefer, they both are correct. :)
