They like being in charge--try telling them what to do and how to do it and you're liable to get your whiskers signed.

What does the "you're liable to get your whiskers signed." mean?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, feelbetter.

Where did you find the sentence you have quoted and who wrote it?

(You need to correct the spelling of the last red word – we don't sign whiskers.

Oh! Thank you.

It should be you're liable to get your whiskers singed.

Can you explain these sentences.

Again, please tell us where you found it and who wrote it.

You're liable to get your whiskers singed

There's a better title for you.

from 'The Sun Sign: Career Guide' written by Robert G. Walker and Howard Sasportas (1989)

It means that people of that type will attack you (verbally) if you try to tell them what to do.
