"He was there for me in the worst of situations." (when nothing is going well)
"He wasn't there for me even at the best of times" (when everything is going well)

Are these sentences correct?

"He wasn't there for me even at the best of times" (when everything WAS going well)

Are these sentences correct?
There's nothing wrong with them, but they don't seem to go together. In the first one you are expressing gratitude, but in the second one you are expressing disappointment.
