Dear teachers,

One day I found the trash can "lying" on the floor. I wanted my son's help. I know this is probably not correct, could you help me check:

"The trash can fell on the floor. Could you please set it upright"?

In BrE, "The rubbish bin has fallen over. Can you pick it up/stand it up please?"
 
Hi, Harriet! You don't want quotation marks around lying, either.
