The short U sound /ʌ/

Hello. I have a doubt about the word: cough sound; I´ve looking an answer because on this site say have sound /ʌ/ but on others sites say kɒf.
Would you be polite to explain me, please

Where does it say /ʌ/on this site?

Take a look at the link below. It has both American and British English pronunciations (click on the speaker icons), as well as the phonetic characters for "cough."

Note also that "cuff" (which is pronounced /kʌf/) is another word in English.
