I want to say an issue is very challenging and has serious moral implications for a society. Can I use "moral fibre" or "moral fabric"? Are these correct and natural?

1. The severe inequality threatens the moral fibre of our society.
2. The refugee crisis presents complex challenges to the moral fabric of German society.

Since you're talking about society, you mean 'moral fabric'.

Are these sentences made up just to practise vocabulary or are you trying to say something interesting?

I heard the words "moral fibre" and "moral fabric" in a video and then I decided to make my own sentences with them. Are they okay?

They're fine.

They sound okay to me.

In my part of the world we tend to use "moral fibre" as a characteristic of some individuals while "moral fabric" is the moral features of society as a whole.
