the right choice of word please?

Dear English experts:

Below is the scene:

I walked into a room and I saw someone severely wounded. It was a blood and gore type of picture and made me extremely uncomfortable. I was almost going to throw up. So I said, "this is really upsetting/disturbing!"

Are "upsetting" and "disturbing" appropriate in here? If not, what other adjectives would work then?

I think "upsetting" and "disturbing" are both appropriate for this situation.
You might also say that you find it "distressing", and possibly describe the scene as "harrowing" or "traumatic".

If it almost made you throw up, then it was "vomit-inducing" or "sickening".

Did you actually see blood and gore, or did you just see a picture of blood and gore? If the former, then it is better to call it a "scene" than a "picture."
