I would normally leave this for the phonetics experts but as you seem to be in a hurry I'll give you an answer based on my own pronunciation.

The short answer to your question is, no, they are not pronounced the same.
I pronounce "word" close to "herd" and "third".
I pronounce "ward" close to "Ford" and "board".

No, word rhymes with bird, third, heard, turd ...
Ward rhymes with board, ford, sword, lord ...

But any online dictionary will tell you that.
