the pronunciaiton of the possesive form of Columbus

Dear all,

I learned that "Columbus's egg" and "Columbus' egg" are both correct as well as the egg of Columbus.

Then, what about the pronunciation?

Are Columbus' and Columbus's the same in pronunciation? Or does Columbus's sound like Columbuses?

One authority says:

1. Mr. Jones' car.
2. Mr. Jones's car.

"No matter how we write the genitive [possessive] in such cases, we normally pronounce it as ['ses']." [my emphases]

"With some (especially famous) names ending in -s we normally add [only] an apostrophe." His example: Keats' [poetry]. But we can pronounce it as Keats or Keatses in these exceptions.
