The following sentence comes from an essay written by one of my students (the essay topic - Your favourite book.)

The plot won’t let you till the end.

Does it sound natural?
 
I'm guessing it's a mystery, and there's something you don't find out until the end. If that's the case, say something like, "You don't find out who did it until the end "
 
You'll have to ask your student. We can't guess - there are too many possibilities.
I have to disagree. We can guess. (I did!) We just can't be certain that we're right 😊
