Would you please help me with my sentences? I am not sure if they sound natural.

The net had become entangled in some underwater plants, and the fishermen spent more than half an hour disentangling it. They were angry and swore. Everything seemed to be against them: the authorities with their strict regulations. the draught, which made river hardly navigable, the lack of fish, and even their own equipment.

The net had become entangled in some underwater plants, and the fishermen spent more than half an hour disentangling it. They were angry, and they swore a lot. Everything seemed to be/go against them: the authorities with their strict regulations, the [STRIKE]draught[/STRIKE] shallow water, which made the river hardly navigable, the lack of fish, and even their own equipment.

I suppose you realize the difference between "disentangling it" and "trying to disentangle it."

I think "draught" was meant to be "drought", which caused low the water level.

See above.
