I want to say someone collapsed. Can I use "spiral"?

Is this okay?

The injured woman hauled himself painfully up, took a few steps and then spiraled to the ground.

1- It should be herself.
2- "Spiraled" doesn't work. Use "collapsed" or "fell to the ground" instead.

Did she fall sideways?
