Hi folks,
I don’t quite understand Dorothy’s line below. It’s from The Golden Girls, Season 1, Episode 9.
R: You? You dated a younger man?
D: Yes, Rose. Of course, it was before I had the hump on my back.

Could anyone help me out on this?

She is making a self-deprecating comment on the fact that she is ageing. One result of ageing (in some people) is that their backs become more curved and, at its most dramatic, the top of the spine (around the shoulderblades) can look as if the person has a hump (a large rounded lump) there. It's also known as a "dowager's hump" in the UK.
