Hello.

Can I use the word "cascade" about horse's mane?

What do you think about this sentence?

The horse's flowing mane cascades down its back.

I know it's a literary word, but is it possible to say that when you are talking about a horse you really like?

It's natural.

Keep in mind that since cascade and flow mean the same thing in this context, you'd be fine with just one or the other: Its mane flows, its mane cascades.
