The hat I bought my daughter didn't fit her very good/well.
Would a native say this? Are both okay?

***NOT A TEACHER***Is it correct to say: " The hat I bought for/to my daughter didn't fit her very well"?
(ems)- Do not put a space after an opening quotation mark.
A lot of native speakers incorrectly say 'good'.
'...it didn't fit her very well' is grammatically correct.
