a- The first thing you have to do is find a place .
b- The first thing you have to do is to find a place .
Are both sentences right?
Is there any difference between them?

Yes; you can use the full or bare infinitive in the above.

Is there any difference between them?
Sentence "a" is smoother.

Ron: What's the first thing I have to do?
Bob: The first thing you have to do is find a place.
Ron: A place for what?
Bob: You don't need to know that just yet.
