I had to be in my forties and I had an accident at work, I was a firefighter. I was off of work and out of the hospital and the specialist told me I had to have an operation on by back injury. So I went to a shopping center and was walking through a large shopping mall worrying about my operation. The only two operations I ever had was my tonsils and my false teeth. The mall seemed quite busy and I was not especially paying much attention to where I was going and only thought about the operation.

All of a certain something overcame me and I felt out of place walking in that mall. At that point, I wasn't paying any attention to walking through the mall, but I was totally unaware in my mind heart body and all of me and not aware of being in the mall just walking through a throng of people without even looking where I was going. I knew without a doubt it was God because I was out of this world body and soul by my self in this crowded mall. I knew in my mind and heart I was going to be alright...without question!

At this point time he left me because I noticed I was at the end of the mall and hadn't paid any attention to where I was going at any time except when I started at the front end and some how wound up at the other end without a thought in my head. Paul

Is three paragraph enough to be a story? Even a short one? Paul

I don't know if it will help, but here is a rough idea of how I would word your piece:

In my forties, when I was working as a firefighter, I had an accident at work. I was off sick and when I was discharged from hospital, the specialist told me I needed a back operation. I was worrying about my operation as I wandered through a shopping mall one day. I had only ever had two operations before - I had my tonsils out and I had my false teeth fitted. I was so preoccupied with the operation that I wasn't looking where I was going.

Suddenly, a feeling overwhelmed me. The throng of people around me and the mall itself became trivial and almost invisible. Somehow, I knew that I was experiencing God because, even though my body was walking through this mall, by soul was somewhere else. I just knew that my operation would go well ... without question!

The feeling finally left me and I discovered that I had walked all the way from the front of the mall to the back without even realising it.

They are indeed.

I will keep that in mind. It will be hard for me since I learned English my way. I noticed everyone has their own voice. What is correct for some may not be correct for all. Grammarly helps me greatly. It's hard to change for a handicap I gave myself. I don't think I am alone with that thought. Hopefully in time I will adapt. Thanks for your patients. paul
