The certain hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body.

Is it okay for me to use 'the' before certain hormone?(It was the first time that I mentioned 'certain hormone' in my writing.)

No. "Certain" doesn't work there.

Then do I have to change it into "The hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body." ?

Is this expression enough to convey the meaning?

Is there only one such hormone? If not (and I know there are more), you're using the wrong article.

The certain hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) is a hormone that is known to be secreted in response to stress. ~~

I want to introduce
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) in my writing... Not every hormones related to positive effects of stress.

The certain hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body.
This sentence means that only one hormone is triggered by stress. That's not correct, is it?

Oh.. I just want to say that one of the hormones triggered by stress can positively affect our body.. Then I should change it into 'A hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body.'

am I right?

I just want to say that one of the hormones triggered by stress can positively affect our body. [Just one period/full stop.] Then I should change it [STRIKE]into[/STRIKE] to 'A hormone triggered by stress can positively affect our body.'

Am I right?
Yes, but the part I've underlined says it better.
