It maybe useful to have a little more context to clearly define your question.

I would probably say, 'I'll tell you later/in a minute/tonight/etc'
 
I believe the important parts are those:
"I'll tell it to you."

Do we need the "it"? - I guess yes
Do we need the "to"? - I guess no

I will tell it your mother.
I will tell it you.

I would like to know this as well.

I don't think this is right. This is "tell sb. sth." or "tell sth. to sb."
I will tell you this.
I will tell it to you.
I have never heard "I will tell you it." but maybe it's correct (but sounds really wierd to me).
Let's wait and see what the teachers are going to tell us.
 
You could indeed say something along those lines.

how was your holiday?

I'll tell you (all about) it later/when i see you/etc.

Though for convenience, I would still stick with my original reply.
