Hi.

My friend asked me to spend my summer vacation in Britain in July because he thinks the place is good for me to learn English. I said to him "I won't take a chance on a July holiday in Britain--it always rains".

I wonder if what I said is natural.

It is, except for one missing letter.

More natural:

"No way! Let's go to the US, instead. The weather's always great there. And they do such interesting things to English."

Is my original sentence better now?

It is, but please don't edit posts after they have responses. It now looks as if you wrote "rains" in the first place, making Rover's post #2 look a bit odd.

It's correct, but it doesn't rain that much in July.

You mean except the two weeks of Wimbledon, right? ;-)

I did say that much- a day or two is fine.

Everywhere, all the time? It didn't look that great in a Wyoming winter in The Hateful Eight.;-)

Snow is balm for the soul. Rain is depressing.

Technically that was Colorado anyway, just set in Wyoming.
