I need more practice to understand the appropriate use of some similar words, the words that seem to me as similar. So would you please explain which ones are appropriate and which aren't?

1. Yin Yang symbol refers that everything exists with its opposite part.

2. Yin Yang symbol means that everything exists with its opposite part.

3. Yin Yang symbol indicates that everything exists with its opposite part.

4. Yin Yang symbol denotes that everything exists with its opposite part.

5. Yin Yang symbol shows that everything exists with its opposite part.

6. Yin Yang symbol expresses that everything exists with its opposite part.

They're all bad. 1, 2, 3, 4 are very wrong. 5 and 6 are less wrong.

With symbols, you should use the verb symbolise. Also, don't use a that-clause to express what you mean. Use a noun phrase as the direct object of the verb symbolise.

The Yin Yang symbolises unity in duality.

Every sentence needs to start with "The".
