In the phrase "Swing the lead" which means to pretend to be ill, the word "lead" is of the metal "lead" which is used in soldering and pronounced "led" or the verb "lead" which means to show the way (pronounced "leed"). Thanks in advance. - Sorry, the word "ledad" in the caption is a typo.

It's common in BrE. It's pronounced "led".
