1. Is this sentence correct? "She asked me what was the matter with you."
or I have to change it as follows , "She asked me what the matter was with you."

2. "What do you expect she has got present for your birthday?"
"What do you expect has she got present for your birthday?"
and I dont feel right for the above two sentences.
Here are my corrections
"What present do you expect she has got for your birthday?"
"What present ,do you expect, has she got for your birthday?"
Am I right?

1. Go for this one: She asked me what the matter was with you."

2. Deep structure:
You expect (that) she has got what present for you.

The first two are fine. The third is possible, but less natural, in my opinion.

What present do you expect she has got for your birthday?
What present, do you expect, has she got for your birthday?

The first is natural, the second not.
