Could you have a look at the screenshot.

I can't understand almost anything from the excerpt I framed with a red rectangle.

As far as I can understand, this is about some conference or something.
Autumn... What is it here for? Time. Thursday.
Then (5|2AH) is absolutly unclear.

Could you comment on it?

It looks like info for some course.
Perhaps:
"Philosophy 6395" - course code
"Section 10328" - section number (within that course)
"Autumn" - the course is taught during the autumn semester
"2:30 - 5:30 Thursday" - the weekly class schedule
Professor Justin Leiber - the course coordinator/teacher

But what is 5|2AH?
And where can I come across such a strange text? I mean it is given in a textbook. Then it is something we are taught. Not incidentally is it here. This seems to be a widely spread practice. But I can't even imaginge where such a strange text may appear.

I mean, for example, do you often have to write whether it is autumn or something.
You have just pointed out the time. It is for you not to forget the season or what?
Ok. But do you have to write day of week?
Why day of week and not just date? In official documents dates are given, not days of week. If it is not an official document, what is it then?

It could be the lecture hall/room number.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Does that text really matter?

In textbooks usually everything matters.
