I wonder how native English speakers understand the bold part.
Does "at the same time as" mean "and" in that context?
 
Would you paraphrase the bold part?
 
I'm just analyzing that part. I know the meaning of "trot".
 
Right front leg moves with left rear leg.
Left front leg moves with right rear leg.
