Suppose that I had a relative of mine working for such an agency, say, a company and went to him asking to grant me a piece of paper to help me find a job or even be assigned at that company(out of policy).:-D
My question is this:
What is called that piece of paper?

It is similar to "a reference letter" but the tone is of "personal help".
Suppose that I had aquainted with you, Tullia, at such a company. I resigned and asked you to give me a special note addressed to a relative of yours working for another company to help me find a job at his workplace.

I don't think there is a specific word for a note sent from one relative to another asking them to help get a friend hired.
