It is a survey written as:

"1) Social networking sites make people ...

A) spend more time on the computer.
B) try to make their lives seem more exciting.
C) be more truthful about their lives."

Is definition "C "correct? Can't we say?
"Social networking sites make people more truthful about their lives"
OR
"Social networking sites CAUSE people to be more truthful about their lives"

C is grammatical but untrue. There is more lying on social network sites than anywhere else! Both A and B are grammatical and true.

Thanks. I just wanted to understand it from grammatical point.
If C is grammatical, and if we join two part of sentence together, it means that we can say:
Social networking sites make people be more truthful about their lives" rather than "Social networking sites make people more truthful about their lives"

Is the blue part grammatical?

Yes, it is.

Yes, it is.
As far as I know, we have the following patterns with the verb "make" , which means cause some one to be in a particular state:

Make somebody do something(make somebody feel happy)
Make somebody/something + adj (make somebody happy)

Now, I can't figure it out why the following sentences is correct as well?

"Social networking sites make people be more truthful about their lives."

"Make someone be more truthful" fits the pattern "Make someone do something".

Your version with cause isn't very natural.
