We noticed that the pole lights delivered were slanted slightly; the stem was not straight, slanted outward by 50mm.

Is the above sentence grammatically sound and natural?

In that context I would use "bent" rather than "slanted", which has a greater indication of damage.
 
It's not a winner to me.
