(1) As a learner, you may not realize that you have raised a
very sensitive and delicate matter that must be handled with
great care.
(2) If you are studying in a university class the physical
features of human beings, then perhaps the correct term for
so-called slanted eyes is the epicanthic fold.
(3) According to the Web and my dictionaries, it would seem that
you should avoid using terms like slant-eye (noun) or slant-eyed
(adjective). People who use those terms often wish to insult
Asian people.

Actually, I meant it as a flattery to describe a non-Asian who has this Asian characteristic(s?), which I find very cat-like. Thanks for raising the issue TheParser.

Ah yes, it's just that I heard someone say that and it got me thinking. The conversation went more or less like this, "Oh! Do you know if you have any Asian origins? Your eyes are slightly slanted." And then a quick remark, "Oh I hope you don't mind me saying that!", which pictures well the word's possible negative connotations, which I wasn't aware of at the time. So thanks again.
