I hate italics. We don't write things by hand in italics, and I know italics are used frequently in today's writing; however, I was wondering if the single inverted commas 'work' in these examples. I do know this method is antiquated, but I prefer it in my writing. That said, are these viable alternatives to italics - yes or no?
