Should I use "where" or "in which"?

Have I used "where" correctly? Is this okay?

The people of Sitka are great; the people of the land where Jessica lives now.
Or should I use "in which"?
The people of Sitka are great; the people of the land in which Jessica lives now.

The people of Sitka, (the country) where Jessica lives now, are great.
