There is a form with a square check box and sentence that says:
[checkbox square] Hide auto shortlinks

The explanation beside the sentence says "And unless you use Windows, leave this unchecked."

What does it mean?

I am using Windows, should I tick or untick the box?

If I am not using Windows, should I tick or untick the box?

Only tick the box if you are using Windows.

I am not a teacher.

They could have made it a bit clearer.

Why not, 'And unless you are not using Windows, don't uncheck this box' while they're at it?

Why not, 'And unless you are not using Windows, don't uncheck this box' while they're at it?

That would really leave the gates open to misunderstandings! ;-)

Yes and yes.
