Should commander be capitalized?

Hi,

I read that the word Father should be capitalized when in dialogue like, the man said," I love you, Father."
So do we also capitalize commander in this sentence, The soldier said, "What to do, Commander?"

Yes. Titles have to be capitalized when they are used as proper nouns and when they are attached to the name of the person they refer to.

Three presidents were in the room, including President Obama and President Hollande.
